Program dogs will be health tested through OFA scans, PennHIP scans, and Embark DNA testing in addition to regular and thorough preventative veterinary care while in training.
Dogs are placed with disabled individuals as a team on a trial basis. After a successful year together, the match is considered a success.
If a match doesn’t work out during the first year for whatever reason, the dog will be returned to Kate Plus Dogs and another match will be made at no additional charge (except travel for placement if desired).
Dogs will be accepted back by Kate Plus Dogs at any point throughout their life for any reason.
All veterinary care, food, and other expenses during the dog’s working life are the responsibility of the disabled partner the dog is placed with while they live together.

Violet - Career Changed
Violet was born on April 10th, 2024 and comes to our program via our local Humane Society from a breeder hoarding situation. Throughout public access training, Violet showed off her amazing temperament which made it extra disappointing to discover mild hip dysplasia in both her hips. Because of this, she is currently seeking placement as a happy pet dog.
